The IMI GetReal Initiative consortium is a ground-breaking pan-European partnership between academia, government agencies, patient organisations and pharmaceutical companies that is funded by the EU Innovative Medicines Initiative (www.imi-getreal.eu). This consortium aims to increase the quality of real-world evidence (RWE) generation in medicines development and regulatory/HTA processes across Europe. One of the taskforces specifically focusses on the topic of pragmatic trials and the decision support tool developed during the initial GetReal project (www.pragmagic.eu). The Julius Center is a leading partner in the IMI GetReal consortium. The research will be carried out at the EU level, in close collaboration with pharmaceutical companies, academia and HTA and regulatory agencies. The employee would be working at the Julius Center, UMC Utrecht, the Netherlands. The key activities of the employee would be to work together with the UMC Utrecht taskforce lead in driving the adoption of well-designed operationally feasible and acceptable pragmatic trials by maximizing the acceptance and incorporation of the GetReal guidance on pragmatic trials (incl. the PragMagic tool, see www.pragmagic.eu) and developing a business model for sustainability of these outputs. This involves identifying and consulting with experts on the remaining barriers to the implementation of pragmatic trials in practice, setting up international meetings, piloting the use of the PragMagic tool and website, determining requirements for maximized uptake of these resources/tools, coordinating the subsequent refinement of the tool with our IT partners and co-developing a business model/sustainability plan for PragMagic and the other resources and identify opportunities for follow-up funding.
